Palazzo Maria

A dream holiday in one of the most celebrated and fascinating places in Cefalù.
Eight suites where you can live the atmosphere of a noble Sicilian house with all its perfumes and flavours.
The colourful explosion of the interior decoration contrasts with the period furniture creating a charming elegant mixture.

Wide windows and balconies look directly on the main square (Piazza Duomo), spectacular terraces open on the adjacent picturesque alleys.
From the spacious solarium-terrace you have a wonderful view of the Cathedral, its towers, the blue sea, the Eolian Islands and the impressive mountain "The Rocca" dominating Cefalù.
The names given to the apartments of Palazzo Maria have been chosen following a special study on King Roger II's family tree and some of them remind famous weddings of Sicilian Norman dinasty members.
For these reason the apartment on the first floor have the names of Roger II (first King of Sicily), his wife Beatrice (of Retel), the ones on the second floor overlooking the square have the names of Frederik (the second of Sweden) and his wife Constance (of Aragon) and on the same floor, but on the opposite side of the Palace there are the apartments named after King William II The Good and his wife Joanna of England, Richard The Lionheart's sister.
Finally the apartments Turiddu and Santuzza for their typical decor remind the atmosphere described in the famous opera Cavalleria Rusticana by Mascagni whose main characters they have their names.
